Uniquely decorated ramen shop in the heart of Chicago. There are many hexagonal pods and private booths that will make things feel like you are dining alone.
Servers typically won't approach your booth, you'll have to push the button but they respond very quickly.
There are some nice specials for solo or duo diners. Menu overall is fairly simple with the kinds of things you'd expect in a Japanese restaurant.
The ramen we got was flavorful and the spicy one I ordered was actually very spicy. My only complaint would be the beer I ordered, it was not a full pour and for $8 I'd expect a full glass.
Definitely worth your visit if you're looking for Ramen and you're in River North
I recently tried Kyuramen and highly recommend their chili garlic edamame appetizer and okonomiyaki – both were delicious. The edamame was light and flavorful, while the okonomiyaki was warm and robust. The tonkotsu Tokyo ramen with black garlic had a strong flavor that didn't quite suit my taste. The omurice my partner ordered was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic, but we wished for more spice options or chili sauce on the table. The River North location in the heart of Chicago earns Kyuramen a solid 4 out of 5 stars in my book.
This place has a really cool design inside. The little honeycombed booths were cute and simple. The tables come with a call button you use when you're ready to order or pay the check. Very convenient. The ramen was delicious. The broth was rich and savory. I had the "hot" level of spice, which I do wish was a bit hotter, but had a nice spice to it. The popcorn chicken and yum yum sauce were good as well. The service was quick and friendly. I would go back for sure.
So amazing! Food had tons of flavor, great presentation, and they had phenomenal service! Restaurant has a super cute interior, too! Would definitely visit again, if I lived closer. Oh, and plenty of fun drink options, too. Yummy and tasty!
This place was fun and cool with their interior design. There are private booths to have your meal in and a convenient “call” button to push when you need service. Customer service was super fast and excellent. The place however, had a funky odor which was a turnoff.
The vegetable egg rolls were fresh and had a good crisp. The ramen was nothing special, which was a bit disappointing. Noodles and soup broth had a pre made taste. The “hot” was a good level of spice, if you like spicy foods. The Thai iced tea was very good - perfect combination of sweet with the spicy ramen. The taro smoothie with lychee jelly was also good. It wasn’t a terrible experience, but not sure if I’ll be back.
We stopped here tonight and I'm sure that this is some of the best ramen I've had in a long time. I got the #6 (I forget exactly which bowl that one is) level spicy, and OH MY GOODNESS. If I could buy a pot of that, I would in a heartbeat. Atmosphere is the perfect blend of traditional and modern style dining. They have the cutest table cubbies (for lack of a better word) to eat in, which give you a personal, almost private feeling for your dining experience. The service was great and we felt that the staff did an excellent job, especially with the table that snuck out without paying their bill (if that was you, and you're reading this, you suck for doing that to them). All in all, highly recommended. If you're in the area, give them a visit!

I was initially surprised at the odd smell. However, the Ramen made it make sense. It was pre-boiled, which made the soup very deep and rich in flavor. Their service was really fast and great. Everyone was enjoying and chilling. Highly recommend if you want something hot and experience something unique.
